Description
A fine quality silver neck torque, called hasuli, from Rajasthan N. India. A classical style worn by nomadic tribal populations of the area for time immemorial and carved with motifs which can be found on ancient beads and artefacts from the region. It is a lovely example of how design and culture can pass relatively unchanged through probably millennia and with a great patina indicative of a life lived, it remains strong and robust with many more years of enjoyment to look forward to!
At 82g it is still a very wearable piece compared with some of the more extreme weights these torques can reach(!) whilst still retaining the desirable tribal aesthetic.
