Description
A fine condition vintage silver neck torque, called hansuli, from the tribal populations of Rajasthan and Gujarat in Northwest India. Whilst often very heavy and unmanageable, this particular piece is lightweight and malleable and therefore much easier to wear. An attractive shaped torque, with the classic hanging balls and flower motifs, it is a good example of how traditional design and style can be used easily in a more contemporary context.
